Emergencies (fire, medical, police) — Dial 911

911 Procedure for Skylake

When a Skylake resident calls 911, the emergency dispatcher, in turn, calls the Skylake gate and reports the location of the emergency and asks which gate the emergency team should use. The gate attendant then notifies one of the Property Owners Emergency escort volunteers, who meets the emergency vehicle at the designated gate, and leads the way to the emergency location. Unless the 911 team requests further assistance, the guide’s duties are completed when the emergency vehicle arrives at the location.

Public Safety

Skylake is a gated community with 24-hour, 7-day gate security. Incoming and outgoing traffic is monitored aggressively. Property owners must alert gate security officers when visitors are expected. License plate numbers are recorded and day or overnight passes are issued. The passes must be returned before leaving the Skylake property. This also applies to building crews and contractors. In case of an emergency, our security officers also have the ability to contact the sheriff’s department via radio.

In the mid-1990s Skylake was included in the county’s 911 emergency-call area and numbered street addresses were added to the existing lot-number identifiers. Skylake homeowners are expected to prominently display numbered street addresses.
